Poem Commentary

I think as we grow older and so many past on, were left with memories both good and bad. I often reflect on things I was told or seen. Those we loved whom we continue to miss and even reflecting on our own legacy. Some call it living in the past, I call it a visit to the past and remembering those we loved, keeping them alive . It gives me comfort and makes me smile. I hope others want to remember me.

What's Lost

My mind runs ramant with many thoughts, yet words won't come to express what's lost.
The worlds moving much to fast, leaving little time to visit the past.
Deep inside are many things I have stored, when there is time I am sure there will be more.
There are special things that make me smile, wishing I could go back for just a while.
Missing those who have long ago past, having memories of each that will forever last.
Wondering what each would think if they lived today!
All the the worldly changes, would they think it's okay?
When my day comes, what thoughts will I hold, as I exit with many stories yet untold.
May I be remembered with love, and may I revist as a beautiful white dove.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
