When I Go To Sleep

I say my prayers, pull down the sheets and turn around wishing you were there.
I climb into bed, pull up the sheets and rest my head already dreaming of you.
In my dreams I could feel you touch and your voice pulling me closer to you, until I wake up and your not there.
I know it's only a little longer until we meet again, but, every night when I go to sleep I'm wishing you were beside me.
When I go to sleep I'm wishing my dreams would just once become my reality.
I every night say my prayers and lay down to sleep knowing it's one more day closer to you.
And ever morning I climb out of bed know it's one more night closer to you.
I just can't wait for when I to sleep with you finally laying next to me,
For when I can turn around and you holding me there I will finally be at ease.
When I go to sleep?

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
