    Poem Commentary

In the memory of my husband, Jeff

    Where are you? honey

Why you had to leave me?
And left me alone to see
         The world is so huge
And so many choices to fill

         I miss you, my love
         I miss your deep voices
         Your cocky joke
         And your dirty socks
         I miss you, my love
         I miss your golden hair
         Your baby blue eyes
         And your confident mind
I miss you , my love
I miss your favorite tivi program
         The UFC fight, the Raiders
         And all the others
         I miss you, my love

         I miss your favorite drink,
         Your Mexican tacos
         And even your favorite table

    Where are you, honey?
And where all activities for me
You are gone with my whole world
Let me be in the blur

           Where are you, honey?
I hope one day I will see
The other world that you in
           With a smile are waiting

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
