Who Am I
Who Am I?
I’m five foot four and I wear size two
My eyes are a wintery shade of blue
I have a degree and a few certifications
I’m surrounded by friends and close relations
I love blustery beaches and pine scented mountains
Chocolate with nuts and Italian fountains
I ‘m sure not a goddess but I am fairer than some
I love to laugh till my face feels numb
Hiking or biking or reading a book
Are favorites of mine and I do like to cook
Love to dance and I wish I could sing
But I’ve no real talent for either thing
I’m a picky eater which can be a pain
I wouldn’t eat sea food if I lived in Main
I’m clean and I’m neat I like things to look pretty
It’s fun to write but I’m not very witty
I have three grown children and one doctor sibling
A dog at my feet who so enjoys nibbling
I love kids and animals and most grown-ups too
So why did I not write this poem about you?
I have spent most my life taking care of others
Putting kids first like so many mothers
The moment draws near to do something for me
Good Lord I ‘m just not sure what that will be
I think I wrote this about myself
As it is time to vacate that self-imposed shelf
Tis time for a risk, a whim, or a fancy
It’s time to do something a little bit chancy
Change my career, go on vacation
Move to a much less remote location?
I’m ready now world – my first step you see
Was writing this too lengthy poem about me
