Why? Tell Me Why

Why? Tell Me Why

Tell me why
Why you hurt me
Tell me why
Why it is you are better
Don't look down, not away
Look at me and tell me why
It pains my heart to know
That angry words easily like stones you throw
You say you don't want to hurt me, nor to see my tears
I try and I try, but my plans go awry
We are dancing in circles with no way out
If you want to help me
Then tell me why

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
