    WHY

WHY IS THE WORLD TRYING TO CHANGE ME,
when it made me what I am
WHY ALL THE GIRLS WANNA BLAME ME ,
for the sins of the last man
    WHY SOCIETY WANNA TAME ME,
when it's obvious that it can't
WHY MY MOTHER ASHAMED OF ME,
cause I ain't follow her plan
WHY DO I FEEL CAGED IN,
    when I'm supposedly free
WHY IS THE COLOR OF MY SKIN,
the only thing that you see
WHY HAVE I BEEN THROUGH SUCH PAIN,
    such struggles so much strife
WHY AM I FORCED TO DO WRONG,
just to live a good life
WHY AM I LABLED AS A LOW-LIFE, GANGSTA & STREET THUG,
that deals drugs spills blood, and feels no love
WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR ME TO CHANGE MY PATH
put the pain in the past move on and just laugh,
    WHY MUST I SMOKE WEED,
    just to calm my nerves
WHY DO I HAVE TO WORK SO HARD,
for less than what i deserve
WHY AM I CONSTANTLY BEING HATED,
for just trying to be me
WHY IS IT THAT WHEN YOU LOOK AT ME,
you don't see what I see

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
