    Your Beauty in my Love

i'd like to spill my heart to you
&express all those feelingz i've held repressed.
but I can't because everytime I try to say it.
you have something else in mind
and even as I whisper it to myself every nite b4 I sleep.
I still can't make it work out of my lipz
that just need to say those strings of beauty.
but you can't hear me like I hear you
or feel me the same way I feel you.
you can't smell me, cuz i'm 0nly capable of smelling you.
this distance and insecurity isn't helping.
    i'll just tell every1 else how I feel&hope you feel 4 me the way I feel 4 u.
even if daz impossible cuz your just a flower
&i'm just the child that wantz 2 pick you
    &take you home to mother.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
