54 or what happened to us

    What happened

    Woodstock, Chicago in 68

    Kent State, stop the war

    Hell no we won't go

    Take it to the streets

Burn a flag burn a bra

Pass the joint, turn up the music

    Cosby, Stills, Nash, and Young

    Personal journeys, communes

    Expand your mind, new horizons

    Fallen leaders, John, Martin, Bobby

The flame fades, a dream dies

    Idle warriors turn

    A switch is thrown

    Law school, MBA's

    New war, a drug war

    Iran- Contra's, the CIA

    The Silicon Valley blooms

    Gold awakening gold

Ditch the jeans, cut your hair

    Wall Street, your new street

    The bra's back on

    Free what

    Money, money, money

My new love, too much is never enough

Free what, peace a down market

    Imperialism replaces Idealism

    Gold, more, more, more

    Health care, die slave die

    Not dead, work, work, work

Help who, they can help themselves

    Demon-crazy, drink the kool-aid

You're free to be our slaves

    The hidden hand

    A new world order

Sleep, work, spend, do it all again

Another song, another dance, another war

    The transformation compete

That was then, this is now

    My soul long gone

Love that title! Oh jeeze, don't get me started, diningdave! : ) Let's even see if I can pull off a SHORT rant, lol! The leeches will, unfortunately, have their regrets. Remind me, the next time I'm on another planet, to take advantage of a species because I know more about them than they themselves do. Dave, never ever say goodbye to your soul, not even in poetry, my friend! Please bare with me, I might have to give you a slightly negative critique here, or advice, depending on your perspective. It's senseless to rehash all that is wrong with the world. You're conveying zero new stuff here. Alchemize something negative into something positive, and avoid wasted poetry of "The Captain is Complaining". I say this with the utmost heart, brother, not trying to hurt you! Btw, your poem as a documentary was a cool idea. God bless!!

Money, too much of it, as well as too little of it, can ruin. Approximately half the world shares your sentiments. Btw, I knew that you were going to be stubborn in your reply here - no worries. So your generation has done some damage you say? And tell me, what generation has not? What country hasn't in history? Rome, Britain, Korea, Russian, Babylon? You've the right mentality, but the wrong modulation of it. It'll do you more harm than good to take responsibility for an entire segment of time. It's water under the bridge. You're here to learn, so, do any little good you can, and let the world do what it seems to do best - devolve! (you might have to read into that last line here a bit because I've written enough). Btw, although this might be a no-brainer, you don't need to watch the news every day - you don't need to know who got shot downtown today!

You sound like that Billy Joel song "We Didn,y start the fire." Last word, the word for my generation HYPOCRITES!

Joel, and Lennon. Psychology questions: Who isn't a hypocrite? Why would anyone not be hyper critical?

the most terrifying part is how successful the system has been. it sickens me to see so many sheeple that actually stand to defend the actions of our government! even the "peace" officer that shoots 25,000 volts into a 12 year old girl. GOD-less_ the U"SS"A!

yup the new world order where we are all slaves mindless dummies that do what we are told and if we don't and we take our heads out of our a$$es and really see will it be to late to reclaim freedom.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
