    A Fever

Oh do not go, for I shall hate
All girls are so, when you have gone
    For I shall not celebrate
When I remember that you are one

The whole world vapors with my breath
A must that she cannot go, I know
Away to the world of death
A place from this world you will go

    Upon this knowledge to aspire
That this her fever might be it
And yet she cannot be a waste by this
Nor long bear this torturing wrong

    For such corruption needful is
    To fuel such fever long
Never to see you in a state like this
That is the fate of a healthy woman.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
