A glimpse of the president-elect

A glimpse of the president-elect

His name I always love to say
like in the telephone conversation
Barack Obama, his real name
a man for the American people.

His speech enchants everyone
his intelligence, a limelight
like a lamp in the darkness
a man for all Americans.

His vision to save this nation
his priorities to bring change
broader in perspective, useful
A man for the American people.

With the economic downward momentum
with higher spending and aid
another great depression they say
indeed a great challenge for him.

Big changes are of the essence
with the rising interest to claim
that economy needs to be saved
to balance the budget with prudence.

A man like him in this regime
a promise to deal with problems
a fitting person to lead this nation
as a new president of the American people.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
