    Summer delight

    Outdoor celebrations in full swing,

    it’s a gorgeous summer weekend –

    many travelers come in drove,

    to enjoy the hot spell of the day.

    Humidity rolls in the background,

    part of the summer heat wave;

    it’s somehow oppressive though,

    that makes others to be half naked.

    Children and their parents walk by,

    with their dogs as their companions;

    what a lovely sight! a delight!

    seeing them while wearing a smile.

    Barrel-chested men display themselves

    with their smiles and happy moods;

    they’re profusely enjoying the day

    an opportunity to expose themselves

    as they face the heat of the sun.

    Great swimmers show their acumen

    surfers, indeed, an impressive vision;

    volleyball players in their endurance

    to get sunburned through the day.

    It’s really a weekend blast for all

    a prelude to the best season ever;

    everyone enjoys and unwinds

    ‘tis the good time that rolls in this year.

    The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

    Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
