A Light Still Shines

A Light Still Shines

Memories that scare me:
    They weigh like a ton,
    The things that I've done...
        But a Light still shone.
Demons that chase me:
    Alcohol and drugs,
    Hanging out with thugs...
        But a Light still shone.
Regrets that haunt me:
    The people, the damages,
    Hurt by my rampages...
        But a Light still shone.
Mistakes that sadden me:
    Wrong paths I've taken,
    Friends nearly forsaken,
        But a Light still shone!
A God that strengthens me:
    Through His so great love,
    Fly graces like doves...
        Yes, a Light still Shines.
A future that brightens me:
    There's no looking back,
    Troubles in a sack...
        Yes, a Light still shines.
A life that lifts me:
    Confidence now soars,
    My Inner Lion roars...
        Yes, a Light still shines.
A chance that intrigues me:
    To right all my wrongs,
    As my heart so longs,
Because the Light shines in me!

A wonderful write! It reminded me of a parable about a seed in different growing places. In fertile ground the light will grow hehehe that's why the world piles all its crud on us wOOt fertilizer! Great job bringing forth content!

touche i think it covers many a topics short and sweet. The best parts of the poem to me were the creativity of the italicized words. The best being "A chance that intrigues me" beautiful ending.

As I've told some of my friends, this is truly "My life in 32 lines," so it does jump over several topics, but I tried to reinforce the positive changes in my life! Thanks for reading and for your words!

The fits a lot of people lifestyles perfectly and then the peaceful ending just tops off the embrace to move on and forward to another day.
