    What Do You See?

    I invite you to take a look out your window;
and tell me: What do you see?
Do you see the traffic, the beggars, and the garbage,
        or perhaps the bird singing,
            softly singing in the tree?
Do you focus on what's wrong in this world,
or can you see beyond to what is right?
Do you rejoice in the all the good that surrounds you,
or condemn the jeans gently faded,
the denim that's now too tight?
I beg of you my friend, take a moment
to see the beauty and to smell the roses...
Always remember that it's not up to you
to answer all the questions raised,
the issues that Life ultimately poses.
Look inside yourself, and I pray that you find
the ability to turn the other cheek and roll with the punches.
Find the time for yourself, your family and friends,
        you'll find that more enjoyable,
a better time than your "power lunches."
    Finally, to quote Bill Shakespeare,
the bard asked, "To be or not to be..."
Take a moment "to be," to live, to breathe,
and I promise you'll see that bird,
            softly singing in the tree.

and without sounding rude omg i'm so sick of people trying to convince me that to spend time with them would make me happy they fail to see i'm happy anyways.' some of us are happy that way some are not. thats life a little of one clashes with the other. if you wanna see the bird enjoy it, but it's not gonna be joyful to everyone. sometimes people fail to see that what makes them happy is not what the world finds there meditating happiness. I mean that in the most nicest way poem was good i'm just saying.

This poem was well balanced and made a valid put to a great success and future.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
