    A Sonnet

Farewell winter, another summer has come

Trees are laden with leaves and flowers

There is nothing to view but thou spectrum

This summer has brought all but no cheers

Would thou soul ever enter this feeble heart

To give me perfect wealth, my soul desires

Engage me with thee and never depart

And spare the place where my soul retires

Summer without thou art would burn me

Smile for me to protect my pathetic soul

Thou art my charm, thou love my query

I surrender my soul to thee to control

Grant me thou love in words thou heart speaks

Before time passes and this weak heart tweaks

An English sonnet written in the archaic style of old... I praise your melancholy sonnet that is full of talent. I hope you will consider giving me your opinion on my "Italian Sonnet I".

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
