A SURGE OF EMOTIONAL TURMOIL
Heart wrenching agony and self-defeat,
Continuously threaten to invalidate
Our inner peace and joy.
Worry casts large shadows
Of disillusionment over us.
Beneath the layers of our personalities
Are wrappings of perplexities and problems.
Setbacks, disappointments,
Misunderstandings
So overwhelming.
God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
Reverse the trend and calm the storm...
For sorrow assails and,
Terror draws near.
The pebble has now become a mountain
Much too high for us to climb.
Rescue us from the deepening gloom
Overshadowing our world.
Solve the devastating problems of humankind.
Grant us strength to overcome,
As we stand grounded
In the truth of your love.
