LONGINGS OF MY SOUL

Poem Commentary

In the stillness of my soul God reassures me that I am loved.  The comfort of God's love stays with me. This reassurance gives me divine peace and comfort.  Divine peace and comfort satisfies the longings of my soul.

LONGINGS OF MY SOUL

Consumed by anger and confusion,

Emotions like rushing flood waters,

Searching for a way out of the wilderness

of overwhelming disappointments.

Struggles and diffculties abound...

I am at a breaking point.

I need to make a connection.

God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob...

Ease my burden,

 Lighten my load.

Deliver me from fear

And Disillusion.

I need assurance of

Your grace and power,

Quiet my tormented soul.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
