Addiction

You, me & Thee
Spinning dizzily
I look to my right
What do I see?
This Thee that stands
between you and me.
Certainly we could be
happier, just you and me
But Thee holds me fast
And fast I hold Thee
Forever parting,
I uncurl my fingers to reveal
Thee, snugly held in my palm.
Thee may try to take flight
But my grip is now too tight
So until I take Thee
And absorb it into me
The space will exist
between us three
Continuing to whirl

I like this, especially the last line (good stuff) - but I couldn't figure out who/what 'thee' is.

Sorry for the late reply! I've been working and away from the site. "Thee" is the what the person is addicted to and how an addition is almost like a 3rd party in a relationship.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
