Poem Commentary

It used to be like my bible.I finally grew up though.Have been an honest, productive member of society for almost 8 years now.I would not trade a bucket of crap for my old life and I would not suggest anyone traveling down that road. It's a lonely, painful, disgusting journey that can only end one of 2 ways: Prison or death, there's no other way except recovery and it's 1 in 200,000 people that can achieve life-long sobriety from meth.It is Satan's weapon and it is very effective. Meth will take everything you have and give nothing in return. It will make you into the things you despise the most. All I could think of was this damn drug that didn't even make me feel good when I took it.
Please don't go there people,it's not worth it,I promise.

       God Bless, Will

An Honorable Being

Mistakes are just lessons, a method to learn,
Shine through all seasons, while learning to burn.

Risking your freedom and spun out your brain,
You were lavished in luxury, but still went insane.

You hide all your profits and you drive the back roads,
You weed out all weakness and build mountains of gold.

You pay off officials like a puppet for hire,
As you sell off the death everybody desires.

You paid for a kingdom but sold off your soul,
You forgot how to smile once the greed took control.

You never speak freely and do business in stride,
You warn of all dangers and where they might hide.

Guard your own interests, let the idiots fall,
Help only the worthy who have always stood tall.

Wipe out betrayal and let no one get in,
Protect all your Brothers who have been where you've been.

The codes of our honor, exist as a pact,
So give only thoughts, till it's time to attack.

Die with your pride but don't go alone,
Cause with both guns ablaze you'll shatter some bones.

Pile up the bullshit if your caught by the law,
And never rat out, just dig in your claws.

Do all your time and stick to your guns,
And smile within as a man who has won.

No prison can break the heart made of stone,
Your freedom will come once the payback has grown.

Live by the laws so few hold within,
From the stand of the outlaw, to the start of the end.

From the filth on the streets and to the mansions of gold,
through the prisons and courts, to the young and the old,

If you can look back and find mountains of pride,
Only grains of regret and the strength to abide,

Then you are the breed with the blood of the kings,
It's you I salute cause your an Honorable Being

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
