    Awakening

    I woke this morning
    listening
    to the waters
    of my heart
they gently waved up and own
floating amiably on a gentle sea.

    my passions had paused,
    my drive had dropped--
    I sat reposed and relaxed
    contented and cozy.

    Oh, what wonderful peace
    it was
    a blissful musing moment
    filled with calm contemplation
    and tinged with
    faint feelings
    of compassion.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
