When did you grow up?
It was just yesterday you were holding my hand.
Where did all the time go?
It was as if it all slipped through the sand.
What made you think for a second nobody cared?
I always tried to leave you with the impression I would always be there.
Why did you try to take yourself away?
Mommy loves you more than words could ever say.
How can we turn this all around?
Maybe with help an answer can be found.
Truly I want the best things for you, but the thing is you have to want that too.
I know life hasn't been easy thus far, living without the very thing you've dreamed of-having your daddy to hold, hug and love.
I'm sorry I couldn't give you all that was needed.
I had talked with your daddy-yelled, begged and pleaded.
Just as it's so your life is not over, may God give you peace and let you and your dad grow closer.
I won't get in the way, be jealous or hurt-I just want you to know what you are worth.
I'd give up tomorrow to know you'd be okay, but never forget your mommy's here today.
Whenever you need me just look at my complexion-I'll be there with open arms and direction.
I've learned a lot so far, and likely more will come, but the greatest thing I know I've learned is how to love-not just in theory or that feeling you get inside, but that action that is accomapanied and teaches you sacrifice.
I believe that you are learning for you have a heart like mine-just make sure you pass it on to your Baby Girl in due time.
