    Bittersweet

     Bittersweet

I cannot tell you of my life
    You woudn't believe me
    A breathless pull towards introspection
    Mind watching mind watching mind
Distant maze of wakefulness and wondering.

Stars look close in that dark sky
Though they are billions of billions of miles apart
My self is that far from your self
Though I try to be closer
    I cannot bridge the gap.

Her name is anathema to me now
Offering Her up to God I can do nothing else
I cannot hear her voice without a tear
In the corner of my eye
Wishing things had turned out different
But they went the way they did
And there is nothing to be done about that.

A love to a mind to a heart to another
We walk still together she and I
    Always walking through the world
Together yet apart until I go to Heaven's door
    I, knocking, She will answer
And we will be lifted up together.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
