    Broken Rebel

My mom warned me about boys like you
i understand why now that we are through
now i don't know what to do
    because i keep wanting you
i wishe di had let more things slide
i said i was strong, but i lied
it's not like i have cried
    but this desire hasn't died
wrap your arms around me tight
love me in the day as you do at night
i want to create love, not fight
you made life colorful and bright
it's like i was simply hired
to be your girl until i was fired
encircled in your arms i was wired
but now i'm only broken and tired

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
