    But Before I Go

    But before I go
I would like to say one thing.
    I lay here listening to
The screams of pain form all around me,
    My best friend dieing
    My comrads flying.
I hold to my chest my last grenade,
    My only weapon.
    The enemy's advancing
    They swarm all around me.
    But before I go
I would like to say one last thing.
"FUCK YOU ALL THIS IS MY LIFE!"
    I pull the clip
    And hear the click.
    A small song,
    A little smile,
    Then... nothing.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
