Coffee, my friend and my fiend

    Rushing out the door
    Don't have time for coffee
I get to work in a fog
    Gotta have that first cup!

First cup down, didn't help much
    Going for second cup
    Espresso this time
    Should waken my jangled nerves

    Almost done with second cup
    Hands are steadier
    Feel more awake
    Until the big coffee letdown

It's 10 a.m. and my nerves are frayed
Can't bring myself to down another cup
    That bitter brew has me
    In it's caffeine grip!

I usually have two cups a day and that's it. Never seem to have the big coffee let down. It might be that once I've had the first cup I become that morning person every one hates. Just kidding. Without my coffee I'm a bear. Good poem, TS

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
