    Dear Mama

Mama, no longer will I hear your voice
Please forgive me for not making the right choice
I love you with all my heart and soul
The love you gave me is more precious than gold
I read your letters over and over again
No more letters will you be able to send
It hurt so bad I want to scream out loud
Mama I love you and I hope I made you proud
Please forgive me for all the pain
My life without you will never be the same
I close my eyes and just cry
Never thought about the day you would die
I will see you in the clouds, the stars and moon
I will always feel you left me too soon
Never again to hear you call my name
I am so glad you went without pain
It won't be long for us to be apart
I will carry you always in my heart
The life we shared together was the best
God has taken you home for eternal rest...

I really loved the poem, I really know how you feel. My moma died back in 2007 and at the time I was 17 years old. Often times i sit and contaplate back on the good times, sadly thinking bout the not so good times. But what you should know is that she's in a better place. Keep your head up to God and down to Lie's. God Bless and Keep up the good work!!!! NyNy100

Cherokee this poem touched my heart, thanks for sharing it

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
