    Deliberate Prosecution

    03/02/09

When you become ugly I don’t want to be with you.

    Your assumptions are belligerent.

And my imperfections become even more apparent.

Not that they don’t already haunt me in my sleep.

Do you think the ghost that follows me

Is not a reminder…a pain in my ass?

I need to become whom I was prior past.

I don’t live in the world of ignorance

Shall you not have even spoken to me.

    In my silence, thoughts continue…

And in my silence you should worry.

I build my own wall of defense.

Do you not remember…I am here alone?

When you speak of the worthless as being “Mooches” of society,

Whom do you assume to be the survivors?

Let shall “We” be left alone…as we already are?

We may not deserve our prior life…

Let alone be accepted or, even more, loved by you.

But did you ever wonder what we think about you?

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
