Devil Already Won

Devil Already Won

Haven’t I shed enough blood for you?
Isn’t my body crippled enough by fear for you?
Haven’t I survived through everything you’ve put me though?
Isn’t my pain 100X enough for you?
Haven’t I tried everything I can do?
And now I’m just waiting for the next wave,
To just come crashing through.
All my life, I’ve be haunted by demons within.
It seem like is has been forever.
When did this all begin?
It is difficult to be strong, when you never win.
Constantly asking, “Will it ever end!?”.
I have to more slack left to bend.
All my life I’ve encountered,
More from below than above.
Life experience tells me,
That the ware has already been fought.
And the devil has already won!

This is a very strong poem. I'd love to hear it performed. Now give me 20 more,- as good as this one.

Your words are great, I can relate to your pain. However, lack of proper perspective causes us to feel this way. But ......The Battle is the Lords and He is the winner!

You are a genuine writer. I truly admire your pen.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
