Innocence Died

Innocence Died

All too often our dreams get pushed aside.
Lost in the power and the struggle.
We give into false realities in the name of pride.
Choices between good and evil sometimes have to be made.
I’ve witnessed innocence that has died.
In the blink of a second, the threads of a soul were torn bear.
Alone in a corner she trembled and cried.
Frozen and lost in a single moment forever broken.
To believe anything could ever be the same,
Would take more than I have to give inside.
Torn apart by our past, I don’t even care,
And wish I didn’t even remember.

You have seen alot, but you have the courage to confront it. I commend you.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
