    Divorce is not the answer

     I grew to love a woman
    She chose to be my wife
    She promised me a partner
    Throughout my days of life
    We talked about the future
    About the days to come
    We suffered over hard times
    We laughed on days of fun
    My heart has never known such joy
    Exedence there's no chance
    She enters the ballroom of my mind
    Where my thought begin to dance
    A birthday is the day to live
    It's the day I began to die
    For on this joyous time of year
    I signed my wife goodbye
    Divorce should be a criminal act
    It tears a whole in half
    It makes it hard to live each day
    Impossible to laugh
    Death would be the easy way
    To end this forsaken hurt
    Will pain be in my broken heart
    when I am laid in dirt?
    I seek in life for others
    To fill this empty place
    But in my life for others
    There seems to be no place?
    Please come back each night I pray
    My precious wife of youth
    Divorce is not the answer
    And that's the solemn truth.

    The poem is well written and very sad. I got divorced last year, and it still hurts. I was wrong for the angry words I had spoken, and he felt to wounded to stay. He loved another, and it was his easy out. I am sorry for this moment, and I do relate.

    I so empathise with you. It was a hard divorce for me. It was on my Birthday she met me to sign the papers. Then she took me to my once loved house and fed me Birthday dinner then upstairs for her last pleasure. I believed strong in God and she was 3rd-4th generation athiest. 3 years together, my longest relationship to this date. This was easy to write as I wrote my feelings, now I turned it into a song. Thanks for commenting and as time permitts I'll read some of yours. Blessings and hang in there and learn from it. Sam.

    I agree somewhat that divorce should never be except in extreme cases of abuse. It seems to me that vows nowadays are part of the new mentality........if it doesn't work throw it away. But, of course these are moral breakdwons and it reflects our whole social system really is in need of repair.

    oooh my Sam, this must have been very overwhelmin' for you?? when i first fell in Love with my Husband , and of course when we had our children, I thought for sure that LOVE was the strongest emotion..OF PAIN....that anyone could possibly experience, it was a sort of pain, coz it hurt to love someone..but it was a good pain..then...I experienced Death PAIN of my Lifetime Partner...OOOOH this feelin' was sooo cruel...it had me chokin', I felt the essence of me drainin... nothin' compared to losin' a LOVE by earthly death or what ever manner they were lost, that void was so cold..it left me soooo shattered..so I can only imagine your pain as mine,..thank you for directin' me here...Peace & Joy, Terra

    Thank you sooo much Tierra. Pain of loss is the worst of all. I have not seen or spoken to Robin since 1989. She was athiest /communist, but I loved her B 4 I knew that. I thought then God wanted me to bring her to Him? I pray I did, but I'm sure I won't know until the day of ressurection???? U R loved. Sam
