    Don't forget to Pray

    Sitting in my room,
    feeling down and gloom,
thinking about what move to make next.
    I sprang from my chair,
got on my knees, said a prayer.
In God I trust will be best.
    Stronger is how you feel
when you put on your praying shield everyday.
Do you feel the fire burning ?
Put it out and stop running,
    running away, running away.
Stop running, having to get out of town.
    Fight the power, stick around
and don't forget to pray !
    Every time we fall
because in man's name we called.
Why is it so hard to understand ?
    We call from elaborate towers,
They're big but they have no power.
Pray to God and not to man.
You don't have to have anything personal to say.
Learn some prayers, get on your knees and pray
for the strength to win everyday.
Do you see your house burning ?
Put it out and stop running,
    running away, running away.
Don't listen to what they say,
just get on your knees and pray,
and you'll never have to run away.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
