Dorthy's Nightmare

  • I'm hoping to get back into writing, I know its not going to be great at first, but I hope you like what I've got

Dorthy's Nightmare

Clicking my heels together
Hoping that maybe,
Just maybe
I'll wake up at home
Realizing this was only a nightmare.

Munchin sized problems
Only as it seemed
Could it be?
That small little voice was trying to kill me?

My "Fairy Godmother" is fake?
Little and Pink,
With vicious viper fangs

Behind all the "Pretty":
Displays of confusion
Lyes the evil, wretched person
We know as ourselves

Blinded by who we think we are
But have you taken a second glance?
In the mirror: Only a reflection of colors

So how can we tell what we look like, see like, think?
Close your eyes, find your way back home,
Click

One, Two, Three.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
