Dreadfull Addiction

Whisper your smoke as I dream
Of a life unborn
A life undone
Swallow the spiders
As I feast on your curious toxins
Lay waste to your mind
While I romance your cerebellum
Cut off your wings
As I take you through the sky
You have never seen
Destroy all you love
While I dance in your misery
Care for no one
As I strip your ability to be human
Try to forget me
When I turn your stomach for more
Try to starve me
As my appetite devours you whole
Try to lose me
As you find me everywhere you go
I will depart you
But not until I make you see
Smoke has clouded your eyes
Your mind is as useless
As a silent scream
Your wings lie in feathers
That drift by your feet
Now with destruction imminent
All that you love has abandoned you
Along with me

this is truly amazing. you paint a horrifying picture of addiction. you come straight out of the gate with the harsh reality and honesty. wow.

Powerful words spoken here! However, I must say that I have felt this way before. I have had the feeling of misery and wanted everyone else to feel as miserable as me. Wonderful!!! DQ

its really nice to hear how someone interprets my work. I wrote this one as if I were a drug. all of the I's are whatever it is you are addicted to. but its interesting to see it from a human perspective, and I am surprised to see that it could very well be about that as well.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
