Dream World

Dream World

Born into a world so different than my dreams,

I escaped to a place where demons were free.

Into the pit of fire, I broke free

Flying on my wings, I carried the Sea.

Living on earth, yet living in hell, I flew and sang

a song yet to tell.

Here and now I see a place

Different from this earth and free of hell.

The sea is home yet dangerous as I fell.

Born into a world so different than my dreams.

Born into a realm so different than the Sea.

She sang a song of harmony and peace,

the Sea, she is, The Old Perl of Earth.

Born into a world so different than my dreams,

Born and died in a realm of dreams.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
