Immortal One

Immortal One, Immortal One

I call out to thee.

Sacred fire of burning times

Will engulf my passion of the sea.

Immortal One, Immortal One

I call out to thee.

The music will soon engulf my senses

And free me of these dreams.

Immortal One, Immortal One

I call out to thee.

I am dying and flying through this realm of

Nightmares and dreams.

“Immortal One, Immortal One”

I say to myself.

I am free as I wish to be

And shall be till the end of time.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
