empty bottle

So I am told, there is a devil in that bottle, I never heeded the warnings until I was at the bottom.

Empty bottle, does nothing for my mind. Empty bottle, this hidden demon that steals my time.

Each drink brings another fall. Each time, another consequence. Late at night I wonder if I'll ever be free again.

Empty bottle, found its way into my hand again. I was always told, this bottle would be my friend.

Waking up, I did it again, holding this empty bottle, waiting for the end.

The glass at the bottom of that bottle is concave, and magnifies that which we were usually trying not to see. It only enhances the present emotion, and tricks the user to death if abused. The warning label should read use only when happy, never when sad or mad. Ever heard the song Whiskey Lullaby? This one has a meaning that could be a help to others, and included in helping others to understand they are not alone. It cut to the bone. Write more, drown less, see your best, and write on.....

deep well done

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
