    Everlasting

Broken pieces of my heart are lost

Found in a place that’s cold and dark

    Leaning forward into this bliss

Ever so wanting one last kiss

NO one sees me as I cry

No one to care for me if I die

Stuck with this sobbing frown on my face

    Never know her warm embrace

Can I find this sundry of pieces

To put together this love that was missing

To find true love in a world un blithe

Only not knowing it was all out of spite

Harrying your love as fast as I can

So no one in the world can hurt it again

I’ll hold it with sooth and lots of compassion

Just so you know my is ever lasting

I come to you now with my arms open wide

Just so you know there’s nowhere to hide

My love for you is ever so deep

And I want you to know I’m yours to keep

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
