Fallen Angel

Have you fell from all you've known,
to land on Earth, so far from home.
Come to erect your vile throne.
Tell me Fallen Angel.
When to come, the end of days?
Should I join the black parade?
Hide myself in this charade?
Tell me Fallen Angel.
If the world were to be mine,
would I be one who's left behind?
Black in darkness cannot shine.
Tell me Fallen Angel.
If i were to die today,
would life go on here, still the same?
Or would the world change it's ways?...
Tell me Fallen Angel.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
