    For The People

    For the People 11/20/07 (Verbalshowers)
So we keep moving but not getting anywhere
Could be that we traveling in an system that’s unfair
    Not a care
In the world seems to be the tare
That separates the braves from those that are scared
    Do you have the courage?
    to not get discouraged
    To stay motivated
    Get the movement escalated
Cause defeat of humanity is not something fated
    To happen
    in fact it’s the napping
    That makes me start snapping
    All these people bull crapping
    In positions of power
Gas is rising and bombs mushrooms flower
    Collapsing the tower
    Of unity
    we were working to create
    Whole classes left devastated
    Didn’t it get contemplated?
    Shouldn’t we have debated?
    Isn’t this what was stated?
    Aren’t we all emancipated?
    A country of the free
is still too caught up in what we want to see
    Or be?
    I’m the fe-male
    that tells tales
    That are true
    But so few
Want the morals, when it indicates toils
    blood boils, plans foiled
    But didn’t it need changing?
Instead of floundering could we be rearranging?
We keep drowning in political pollution
Not finding solutions cause we wanna pretend
Stuck in apathetic delusions so we can’t even fend
For ourselves while it’s not of our choosin’
    We’ve been force fed falsehoods
And got them stuck in our heads
But when you wake up and find
That you don’t like the times
    Stop acting like mimes
    Awake as a soldier
    And shoulder the pressure
The power of the people can’t be measured or soiled
It’s an untapped resource worth more than oil
    More than money
    The people are priceless
That’s why I gotta’ grab my pen
    Sit down—write, then recite this
Forget what the TV—what the media told you
Learn to set better goals for the future before you
Do you really care about having that bling?
Isn’t it more important to hear the birds sing?
In the morning? So we won’t be mourning
    A planet that sustains
Not only humanity but the sea and the plains
    It’s the pains
    That I feel each day
    That I stay
    Inactive.
    Gotta’ stop being passive
    And collect the masses
For a massive move to renewal
Not only in our hearts but in the school
    Of life
Selfish agendas have caused enough strife.
Pull ego off its pulpit of pride
Don’t let your true desires hide
    Be on the side
    of beauty
Not only cause it’s your right
    but because it’s your duty.

Girl, you are the truth!! ....we keep drowning in political pollution...so true, and yet, so sad-you would think by now-we could see and know the truth-some of us see and know, but don't want to see, nor do we desire to understand. As soon as I get time, I will read more of your work-just keep posting and I'll keep reading-very inspirational.

I enjoyed your poems and the power that came with them...keep your passion burning...*smiles*

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
