Forgiveness

Poem Commentary

Like many, this is one of self-examination or evaluation of myself.

Forgiveness

Born fresh,

Unspoiled,

In a wild grove.

Charmed by the sun;

And rinsed of all sin,

By salvation rains.

Self-pruned

Not in dormancy;

But choose time

Of sap’s fervent run,

Often favoring graft

Of willing consorts--

In vain.

Dark tendrils search

Depths cluttered and

Unknown;

For within, churns

Life-giving sustenance

And communion.

Broad senses absorb

Free air of emotions

Foreign and unresolved;

Detaching toward springs

Unable to embrace

With rigid limbs.

Tremors strike harsh

In awakening of mortality;

Futility in movement

Drafts internal design--

Destined to

Raising lids of coffins

For direction and

Forgiveness.
