    Free advice

To all of you job hunters
    I'll give you some advice
When you see a trucker passing by
And you think that would be nice
    Dont be a lorry driver
    Avoid it if you can
    You spend your whole life
    Living in a traffic jam
    I worked for an asshole
His name i cant tell you
There was not enough hours in the day
To do what he wanted to

It was ah now this and ah now that
And if that as far as you have got
While the only thing that he would drive
Was me into an early plot
He sits up in his office
    his heater at his ass
Says i know the roads are slippy
But you have to get there fast
    He shakeshis head and mumbles
    Not much money made today
    And i need another beemer
So there'll be no rise in pay

    You finally leave the trafficjam
    Out on the country road
You think you might just get somewhere
    With your heavy load
    You turn around the corner
A farmer pulls out from a gate
You'd have passed him in a second
But of course he couldn't wait
Instead he stops and blocks the road
    To close the bloody gate

In fact do be a lorry driver
our life will just be fab
You'll see the wonders of the world
From the inside of your cab
So do your lessons pass your test
It will all work out just fine
Youll get a job no problem
I JUST HOPE TO GOD ITS MINE

Gerard, I love this poem!!! This has the heart of the truckdriver embedded into each and every line and angst and humor too. Spectacular! ginga

Thankyou Ginga i think 26 years behind the big wheel may have made me a little grumpy . i dont work for that guy any more so i am a happy little trucker now.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
