God's Mercy

God's Mercy

We walked in a line
He said bow your head to me
I did
He said bow to me as he pushed us to the ground
This is my home
I dare not look up
But did
He slashed me across my face
You shall feel my pain and not beg for mercy
You shall be laughed upon
If beg for forgiveness
He spit at are feet
And beat us down
Chained and bound to the floor
The air heavy
Lightened
The dark hole
There was a beam of light
The chains that bound us
Broke free
I stood
Blood ran down my face
He floated down and landed in front of me
With tears in my eyes
He said
I did not laugh when you begged for forgiveness
But I heard your cries
I free you from this Hell
And lead you to green pastures
Take my hand
I did
I woke upon green grass
The sun shining bright in a field where I lay
Of green pastures of a better day

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
