    The Face

    The Face

    A face like grace
    The face of flawless beauty
Eyes that show hopes and dreams
    Hair of silk
    Lips like cherries
    The mind of a genius
    A voice like heaven scent
    The Face, the face
    We look upon
The soul of endless journeys that never leave home
    A heart of velvet
    Soft to touch
    The face that hides
    And hides so much

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
