Golden Gate

Golden Gate

A green haven of trees
At the top of a hill fading away
A calm surrender
When I feel like my life is expired at the end of the day
A white sky filled with mists of grey
With a blue horizon
Mocking the streelights but refusing to disintegrate
This is my world
When I forget who I am in a way
Looking down
Looking up
Remembering I'm not who I say
Realizing you will never change my strength
And knowing I'll be okay
This is my life
And my secret golden gate

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
