I'd tell you that I love you
I'd show you that I care
But what I say doesn't mean one thing
And I can't see past despair
You never knew how I really felt
I couldn't bear to let you see
    The imperfections hidden inside
And yet without you I'd never be
I feel the pain all around, it's true
The tears in your eyes, because of me
A sparkle in your broken laughter
    And hopelessness in all dreams
    So tonight I'm starting over
    Tomorrow I'm letting go
    Today was just another mistake
One more reason for me to scream
But again I can make it through
Grow numb to what is true
With out you I'm breaking down
And you will never hear a sound
But when it all comes to an end
And the one clear shot is heard
    Let it be known
That I tried to make it show
    But no one ever saw
So I'm leaving you with just one thing :
The gun that made the world go 'round.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
