Poem Commentary

I wrote this originaly with thoughts of my niece in mind who as a teenager had her share of depression. I recently however have had to deal, for the first time with, depression and I realized how truely horrible it was. After talking to someone I'm feeling much better but will never forget the feelings of hopelessness, and shame. Now this poem is for anyone who has or is suffering with these feelings. Please! Hold on.

Hold on

Here comes life again,
Crashing over your head,
Like waves against the shore.

Hold on.

Your stronger than you know,
Hold tight and don't let go.
I promise your not alone.

Hold on.

Sometimes life is full of sorrrow and pain.
Give life a chance to change.
It wont always be that way.

Hold on.

I see the light your eye.
Your a star against a velvet sky.
You'll see it too.
Given time.
Give it time.

Hold on.
