Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem from the point of view of a character in a t.v. show I watched as a child. Now trivia time. Can any of my fellows from the 80's generation tell me what the show was called? Bet ya can't.

Home

Home.
It means so much
To so many.
Defined diffrently
To everybody.

Home for me
Is not a house.
It's not a place.

My home
Has no walls,
No roof,
No doors.

There is no
Room of my own.
No place for toy and things.
What I need
I carry with me.
What I don't need
I leave behind.

My home is better
Than any house
Ever built.

My home
Are two strong arms.
They shut out the world
Better than any four walls
Ever could.

My home
Are two shoulders.
Big enough
To carry all my fears.

My home
Are two hands
Both
Strong and gentle
To wipe away all my tears.

My home does
Have a harth.
It's tender beat
Sometimes luls me to sleep.
This harths fire
Of gentle loving warmth
Never flickers
Or falters.

My home
Has a name.....
Bogg.

Wherever we go
I am home.

:) nope. It was from a 80's t.v. show called Voyegers I watched when I was a kid.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
