Hope

Hope

Sit if you will and close your eyes

Deep in thought but not asleep

Just think about the complexity of Life

And the myriads of secrets you keep

Cosseted deep within you

Where nobody else can pry

Only known to you alone

As the hands of time pass by

But you know when you wake each morning

There is something to motivate

Your movements in the coming day

On which you must concentrate

What is the something which drives you

Perhaps guiding you to achieve

Over riding the thought of failure

Behind you negative thoughts you leave

You strive ever onwards thro every day

To reach a goal is your aim

Without ever glancing backwards

Not even searching for fame

For faith is there in the forefront

The power to enable you to cope

And now as I ask you to open your eyes

Everything is possible with faith and hope

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
