Second time around
Second time around.
If you sit back and think of life
Right back to the very start
From a Babe in arms to Adolescence
Progress could be displayed on a chart
Teenagers still learning though
Schooldays may have passed
Friendships made and broken
And special partnerships that last
The Beau that the Belle has chosen
Perhaps the courtship wsas too fast
But the doubts were very quickly erased
And ‘ere long the Happy Couple were wed
Happiness stretched before them
Or maybe their own Utopia instead
In natural progression the children came along
They now had a Family of their own
But sadly as sometimes happens in life
Dissention had also grown
Maternal instincts growing stronger
Intimate moments start to fade
Love now turned to Acrimony
The ending of a romantic decade
Tears cascade like a waterfall
Will broken hearts ever mend
Time they say is the magic healer
When will happiness again descend
Children now with Mother,
Another single parent is she
Is this now to be her role in life
Alone for Eternity
Then suddenly a glimpse of Sunlight
Appears from a break in the cloud
Could this be the start of a new life
Time to cast off the shroud
Just as all hope was fading
A friendly smile from across the room
Could this be the start of a second romance
For a lasting partnership perhaps to bloom
Maybe just join for a drink at the Bar
Accompanied by social chat
Perhaps an evening out to the Theatre and a meal
Could possibly follow that
Today there are so many different ways
Where friendships could possibly start
Even a chat on the Internet
May grow to an affair of the heart
Belles and Beaux will ever be present
Ever hopeful their paths may cross
And perhaps form a loving relationship
To erase the memories of their recent loss
For love is blind is what some folk say
And I believe it is often true
Thinking mistrust only happens to others
Never knowing it could happen to you
So now it is time to cast the cobwebs aside
And look to the good times ahead
Your friendship may grow from strength to strength
To a lasting partnership, instead
Of living your life on your lonesome
Not sure of where it all will end
So open your arms and embrace a new life
With a new loving partner and friend.
