    hopeful

    i don't have a father nor a mother
    but i must live
i must work hard for time is short...
    i may go without food...
i may sleep on the streets...
but I'm hopeful that tomorrow is gonna be better than today.

when all fades and my heart grow empty...
I'll close my eyes and think...
what does a man without hope think?
    life is unfair!
but I'm hopeful that tomorrow is gonna be better than today.

when i turn my eyes to the destruction of lives and properties...
see the tears of the children...
hear the groaning of the afflicted...
    my heart melts...
but I'm hopeful that tomorrow is gonna be better than today.

    i do not know how...
    i do not know when...
but I'm hopeful that tomorrow will be a better day!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
