How can I?

How Can I

By Robert F. Barber

How can I judge you when I am to be judged

How can I blame you when I am at fault myself

How can I place myself above you when we are the same

How can I talk of the things you have done when I am no better

How can I when we exist in the same space and time

How can I when I am a fallible being of so-called faith like you

How can I when I am the mirror to your soul as you are mine

How can I when we are brothers/sisters of time, experience and circumstance

How can I when we are a soulful nucleus of the times we live

How can I when we are finding our way through a man made jungle

in search of an asphalt rose…outside of our soul

Never finding,… always looking…

How can I not.. need you

The content of character, not the color of skin.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
